When I was growing up, all I ever heard was - “work hard, don’t waste your time on trivial things and you will be a success”…. As a nation we here our American education system is shot and that the Japanese have students who have no summers off and work long school days. This is why America is falling behind…….. Now I find out that video games could have made me a millionaire. That silly computer “nerdy” tech stuff could have made me the next bill gates. I also know that the Japanese culture plays more video games, online fantasy games and spends a lot of time trivial things - like perfecting the “art “ of twirling pens in their hands. I guess we were wrong…… Maybe I’ve learned one thing over the years of my life - I will never tell my children that something it too trivial or useless. It just may be the next big thing and they will be the next bill gates or Myspace, or who knows - millionaire champion pen twirler…………………

Don't get me wrong but this season seems to be a bit more rough on me than previouse one's. I personally witness a store clerk get malled as he tried to bring in some Wii nintendo units to place on the shelf. When some one is almost trampled becuase a couple of parents need that oh so wanted gift - maybe everyone should carry a stun gun? But give me a break - even if the woman in the video below was irate and a bit out of control [ maybe - hard to tell on video ] - I still don't believe that she should have been stunned. I'm starting to think this is getting out of control here. I always get that stupid alarm ring from the security buzzered becuase the register girl didn't decoded it right - am I going to get tased one day becuase that alarm went off and a security guard will find it easier to tase me than to confront me?

Is God a control freak? Are we the choices we make? Do bald people use shampoo? Are these really the questions we want answered? Are we willing to go to the unnamed and unidentified masses online to get seriouse answers? Or is this another cute way of getting to meet people online on one more interesting social site like myspace and facebook? I visted the site and it was interesting, and it may be fun - but i wouldn't put to much stock on the answers you may find. I personally like the discussion forums better than the "yes or No" question parts. But hey - it is a social site so it's suppose to be fun.......... and according to 73% of the people who answered the bald question - no they don't use shampoo......lol

It's an interesting thought - a road that humms a tune so you wont be bored or feel bad for humming a song as you try to pay attention to the road. True Hobbits apparently existed in history. Ok, forgive me for my rant but - who the hell gave the school any right to provide birth control pills or products to children [ pre-teen , teenagers ] ? It’s no wonder other countries think we’re crazy. Half the world including our own country has parts full of starving people - but here in California we have nothing better to do with a 1,500 pound Pumpkin, except smash a school bus with it. Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!!! Why am I so happy, my little or not so little girl gave me a headache when she all of a sudden needed a cell phone. After all, her friends had cell phones. Even her cousin had a cell phone. She just had to have one. Well, I knew it was a waste to go pay hundreds of dollars and a 2 year contract on a cell phone that would probably be used for 2 weeks and then forgotten [ and it was - love that pre-paid phone ]. So when my daughter started talking about getting an allowance and possibly a credit card - my heart dropped. [ it’s still on the kitchen floor even as I speak ]. So being the tech savvy parent that I am I ran to Google for help [ 3 weeks later - head hurts - to much search…..]. I finally found something that may work and will not burn a whole in my budget and will give her the impression that she is grown up - when I know just like the cell phone - this fever to shall pass. I walked into my local Dollar general store to pick up a gallon of milk and found myself transported in time. They were already preparing for Christmas…? That’s right Christmas! Personally, I don’t like all the huggy huggy thing. I personally reserve hugs for family and special friends. I would also like to add that I would prefer that my daughter stay at least fifteen “Hundred” feet away from boys. But this is ridiculous - to ban hugs??? I thought it was funny at first till I read in the news paper that it wasn’t only this school in Fossil hill that banned hugging in school. From Bend, Ore., to Oak Park, ill., to Des Moines, Iowa, to Orlando Florida schools are banning hugs. And the excuse - that it causes congestion in the hall ways - well, tell the kids to move along and not be late but banning hugs??? Hey, I personally would prefer my little girl would never hug a boy and never marry till I was dead - but that’s not going to stop her.. You know your child is growing up when they start to do more and more things for themselves. It’s a great feeling and a relief. I remember I couldn’t wait for the potty training so we could lose the diapers. Then I couldn’t wait for him to be able to go to the bathroom on his own. Now he wants to do everything on his own - very independent little guy. He says he wants to brush his teeth, take a bath, use the bathroom, even get dressed on his own. Just one question son: “Why are you wearing your big sisters pajama shorts? Don’t grow up to fast, I’ll miss you needing me. Update: 2012 January 21 My son is now 8 years old, wow how time flies by. He is still as cute as a button and a very independent person. He has learned how to ham it up to use his cuteness to get people to do things for him. He still has the same face, big head [ all kids do ] and attitude. I love that kid.

You know my kids have a cool parent, because I am a video game buff. When my daughters friends talk about Halo - Hey I am up with that. After all, I am an old-timer [ can’t believe I said that]. I was there when the first Atari video game console came out, I bought the second game console ever created “Collico”. Then came Nintendo, sega , sega genesis, super Nintendo, Playstation, X-box , the Wii and all the upgraded versions on the now current top game consoles. I feel good when my little girl says, hey lets play a game together and be it monopoly or Halo, I am up to the challenge of monopoly and the skills needed to blow away some ugly alien butt. But I find myself wondering one thing…… Is it normal to have my three year old saying “ I want to play, so I can Kill you ” ???

I've been having a bad week and have been openly venting my fustration with the high cost of living [ meaning everything ]. I mean [ not to sound old ] but I remember when milk was $2.50 a gallon. When a small bag a chips cost you 25 cents and when I first moved to florida gas was $1.25 a gallon. So here I am fustrated and openly talking about the high cost of living in front of my children. I forgot that my duaghter is old enough to know what I am saying but not old enough to understand what life is all about. So on one of our trips home from school she ask a very polite question: "Are we poor???" I really felt bad about forgetting that children pick up everything you say. I was sitting with my little girl helping her do her home work, it only took a few seconds before I realized that my little girl is realizing I am not the all knowing parent I pretend to be. It’s funny - the fact that things are the same and yet have changed so much. I was helping her with her math and I thought I knew what I was doing until my little girl screamed out “ your doing it wrong…!” She said, “that’s not how my teacher said we have to do it“. After conversing on how her teacher wants it done - I realized that my answer was right but my method was different. So I had to show my little girl that yes it’s important to follow her teachers instructions and learn from her, but never forget - there are others ways and sometimes simpler ways of doing things and getting the right answer.

I’ve been robbed several times in my life, and it was part of life because I lived in NY in one of the worst neighborhood around. In all the years I live in New York I was scared of being robbed, mugged, held up, beat up, and so forth ……. But not once did I ever think that a criminal would stop to lick my feet? Yes, lick my feet……… But apparently - I guess if you live long enough your bound to see anything and every thing. This crook apparently had such a bad foot fetish that he just had to stop in a middle of his crime - to lick this ladies feet. Oh please take my wallet and by the way, I didn’t wash my feet today…….

On a personal note, I lived in New York for 22 years. Grew up there, wonderful place to live if you don't mind the crowds and such. I remember when we moved to florida and on one of our vacations to NY with my brother-in-law and his new wife. We had to take the subway becuase his wife had never seen the subway.... She wanted to experience the crowded NY subways. It makes me wonder what she would have done if she saw this bill board????

Oh yea, I knew drinking coffe would pay off one day. So sar studies show that coffee can help prevent hair loss and that it can help fight off memory loss in women. I like my aging odds now. I drink about 5 cups a day or more, so I will be a sharp and active old person - with a hairy back???? With all this good news about coffee - I still wont pay $55 dollars for coffe made from cat poop. I don't care what the benefits are - yuck.....

Can you even really call that a sport, sounds more like training for the military or maybe training to avoid police capture…… In either case it’s an interesting thing, I know I couldn’t do it, so you know what they say “if you can’;t jump off a building, you go splat if you do….”
